Created from smoke and shadow, the Daemos have existed for 150,000 years. God created them to balance out the Light of the Pure with Shadow. Damned at their conception they live now live on Earth hidden and hunted, wanting only to escape the curse laid on them at birth.
Daemos have astounding power and strength but are far from immortal. Though they can live 10,000 years they can be killed like any mortal. Fierce, mischievous they have bred with humans, creating a subspecies called Minions. Not all Daemos are evil but none can escape the fact that God created them only to be hunted, to be vessels for all the sins of the world.
Daemos live in tight family groups called Clans and all submit to the first of all Daemos, Errant. Most cannot pass as human without Glamour, an ability they develop at the age 500 that magically hides their Daemos form. Daemos are immune to fire and all but those with more human blood can Shift between the Mortal and Spirit Realms to pass from location to location with a thought.
Daemos bleed black, their blood and bite is venomous, they possess wings and are ruthlessly hunted by the Keepers of the Faith, a secret religious order dedicated to eradicating all evil from the world.
